Gremlins

This week I went to the library and I saw this movie.I think I was 8 or 9 years old when I saw this movie,but I don´t remember watched it in the cinema(I remember ET and Dartacan:P).

The movie was written by Chris Columbus(Harry Potter) and the producer was Steven Spielberg.

The plot is about a guy that invent home appliances that never work more than one week ,that try to sell one of his invents in Chinatown and he found the perfect present to his son a criature(Mogwai)and he bought it for the owner´s grandson.He tells him that he need to follow 3 rules.he can´t touch water,no expose him to lights and he can´t eat after 12 am.The name of the cute Mogwai is gizmo(I always wanted one but at the end i had a People that i still have her,Iris)

The movie is very predictable but I like it because it´s part of my childhood

V for Vendetta

That one is a movie based in a graphic novel written by Alan Moore.I like Alan Moore a lot,he is a very close friend of Neil Gaiman(the movie Startdust).I discovered him when I read` From Hell'(yes,it has a movie with Johnny Depp),I love Victorian Epoch and I think I saw almost every movie about Jack The Ripper(for me the best is the BBC mini-serie with Michael Caine).

The movies is about a mystery man that covert his face with a mask that trys to destroy the goverment.V saved Evey(Natalie Portmant)for the attempted rape that 3 members of the secret police try to do.The story is situed in the near future in a parallel London that is controlled for a totalitary government.After V saved Every he destrois one of the important buildings in London and tells to the population that in 1 year (the 5th of November)the things are going to change.

It was really interesting,for me I felt like a mix between ,heros,1984(George Orwell´s book)and the nazis in Germany.I read that Allan More didn´t want to take part in the movie because he had been dissapointed for film adaptation of 2 of his other graphic novels

One of my friends recommended this movie to me 5 months ago and last week when I went to the library I was very lucky and I could borrow it.

Its a movie about American Gansters in New York and it was directed by Martin Scorsese.The main character is playing by Ray Liotta that its a kid (half Irish American,half Sicilian American) a Italian neighborhood in New york that decided to quit the school to be part of the mafia.He started saying:``As far back as I can remember ,I always wanted to be a gangster´´the story start in the 80s but only for a few minutes and after you are moving to the start when Ray join ``The family´´

It has one of my favorites actors Robert De Niro,he is really awesome.

The Story is about Ray ,Robert and other of the gangster Joe Pesci over three decades.,it starts in the 50s and finish in the 70s its really interesting see how the ``bussines´´ of the ``Family´´change with the years.I really recommended this movie it was really great.But I realize that I need better speakers in my laptop I miss some parts because my speakers have limitations :(.

I was reading about the movie and I saw that in some websites explain that Scorsese meet the actors and gave them freedom to create the characters and develop the plot and that after he put the best lines on the script.

I borrow other movie today,V for Vendetta(I read the comic) and I´m also trying to find a movie that I heard about it a long time ago,but I´ve never seen it ,it´s a black comedy of Alfred Hitchcock ``The trouble with Harry´´

Heartbeats

I was so lazy the last two weeks to post something:P.

I went to the cinema last week to watch this movie,I was volunteer at the vancouver international film festival last year and I wanted to watch it but it was sold out,but one of the cinemas did special about Canadian features 2010 and i had the oportunity to watch it^^

The movie is from Quebec and it was filming in french(at the end my mind was a little confused because I studied french and my mind translated french to spanish and the sub were in english .spanish,english and french togetherXD)

The plot is about two friends(a guy and a girl)that fall in love with the same guy and the competition that they develop to attract his atention.The ambience is like the 70s in France,the clothes style,the places...

The main point is the relationship between the 2 friends,you can see that they have a dynamic love-hate very strong and this one is not the first time that happen(the director shows perfect with the marks on the bathroom´s wall).

I love the mvie,but I think its going to happen the same with this movie that happened with one of the movies that I like ,its almost imposible to buy/rent it...

Im looking now for one of the other movies of this guy I killed my mother I hope i can find it:D

Goodbye Lenin!!!!

Today as usual is raining in Van :P.But now I like more the weather because I like my place and I can watch movies or tv shows and enjoy myself and I don´t need go out ^^

Last Friday I took this movie in the library(my next movie Metropolis is coming soon)

Last year I saw like 5 minutes of this movie on the Tv and I thought that is an interesting movie.

The movie is located in Germany in 1989,Alexandre´s (the main character)mother suffer a heart attack when she see the police arrest him in a protest againts the regime.She has been in coma for 8 months and in this period Germany suffer big changes with the Wall coming down and East and west Germany next reunification,and the capitalism is changing his world and his mother world.when she woke up her health situation is still bad and Alex decided to protect her from the reality and keep her inside his home where the family can protect her and he recreated East Germany inside his home.

Its a very interesting movie,you can see the big changes(3 years waiting for have a car!!!!) and how he make the things(his co-worker that is a filmmaker help him to make tv programs ,news...) to recreate the regime.

And another good thing for me is that I saw the movie in german with english sub and I could understand all(my reading is still good not as my grammar)

Stardust

I descovered Neil Gaiman 6 years ago when i started date my exbofriend,I´m interested in anime and japan since I was 11 but I knew almost nothing about american/european comic but my ex introduced me to Gaiman and now is one of my favourites authors.Gaiman write the plot and other authors make the illustrations of his graphic novels or comics.(if you like great stories,you should read 1602 and Neverwhere)

Anyway, I love Neil Gaiman stories and this movie is based in one of his stories,for me it remember a little bit the world of the princess bride.

Tristan the main character decided across the wall to bring to his love a fallen start but when he is in the other side he realized that the other part of the wall is another world and the start is not a stone is a beautiful girl that all the people want.

Stars that fallen from the sky,princess,a wall between 2 worlds...Its really fantastic!!!!I have the special edition of this movieXD,and i think it´s a great movie to watch today,outside is raining and cold(RaincouverXD)

The Breakfast Club

I´m feel a little retro today and i decided that my movie recommendation for today is ne from the 80´s: the breakfast club.

I like this movie a lot,its not a very pretentious movie,it has one of the famous actors from the 80´s

Emilio estevez( i was in love with him when i was little)Molly Ringwald one of the teenagers icons in that epoch and a curiosity, Molly almost was Vivian Ward the main Character in Pretty Woman but she refused it and the producters gave it to Julia Roberts.it's interesting,isn't it?

the plot is about a bunch of students that need spend the saturday at the school.but its interesting.i hope you will enjoy :D
